Lane declined to allow his attorneys to present evidence on his behalf at the sentencing hearing before GeaugaCounty Common Pleas Judge David L. Fuhry.
Mr. Lane began living off and on with his paternal grandparents in Chardon several years ago, said Carl Henderson, a former Chardon police officer and GeaugaCounty Sheriff, who lived near the family.
