abstract:Furcraea is a genus of succulent plants belonging to the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae, native to tropical regions of Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and northern South America. Plants of this genus are the origin of fique or cabuyo, a natural fiber.
