abstract:Foxhunter (1940–1959) was a champion show jumping horse ridden by Harry Llewellyn, best known for their part in securing Great Britain's only gold medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics (in the Team Jumping equestrian event).
In the following race, the Foxhunter Chase, Richard Young steered the favourite Kingscliff to victory with Bright Approach in second and Last Option third.
Willy Twiston-Davies, the 16-year-old son of Imperial Commander's trainer Nigel, rides the favourite Baby Run in the Foxhunter Chase, the race immediately following the Gold Cup.
Elsewhere, The Foxhunter, a Grade II-listed, stone-clad hotel set on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, offers tailored foraging courses depending on the season, and Monmouthshire farm Humble By Nature offers summer classes where you can learn how to tap and drink from beech trees and make puddings, preserves and syrups from the leaves and buds picked from rowan and bramble bushes.
