Based on the characteristics and actual development condition of open distance education,a "five-dimension"positioning model is constructed to describe the basic position of teacher troop's role in modem open distance education; the concept of"five-type"teacher is put forward; meanwhile,relevant topics are discussed. It is hoped that these theories can provide some guidance for reality.
