abstract:Fish owls are a group of Asian owls in the Strigidae family. The owls are sometimes placed in their own genus Ketupa, but should arguably be merged with Bubo.
It has particular importance for a number of marine and terrestrial species, some of them endangered and endemic, such as Blackiston's fishowl and the Viola kitamiana plant.
