Celebrex is approved as an adjunctive therapy for a hereditary disorder called Familial Adenomatous Polyptosis (FAP), which causes colon polyps to appear with alarming frequency.
"None of this applies to people with FAP or non-polyposis colorectal cancer syndromes or very high colon cancer risk based on family history, " Ladabaum says.
