Through analyzing lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, magnetostratigrphy and paleoenvironment, it is considered that Pliocene laterite should belong to a series of multi-genetic laterite formations, and hence it is unreasonable to repeat the formation building in Yangyuan basin.
