abstract:World Coal Association (WCA) is an international non-profit, non-governmental association based in London created to represent the coal industry. The association was formerly called The World Coal Institute (WCI), but changed its name in November 2010.
The WorldCoalAssociation (WCA), a trade body for the industry, said that burning coal account for about 24% of global mercury emissions and the use of "adequate technologies" could reduce emissions of the metal from coal-fired power stations by up to 90%.
