abstract:Professor Emeritus AJ (Tony) McMichael, MBBS, PhD is an Australian epidemiologist who recently retired from the Australian National University, where most recently he held an NHMRC Australia Fellowship. From 1994-2001 he was Professor of Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, before returning to Australia to follow Prof Bob Douglas as the director of the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health.
