abstract:The Mitten () is a bare flat-topped mountain, which resembles a mitten when viewed from above, standing 3 nautical miles (6 km) northwest of Mount Armytage in Victoria Land, Antarctica. Named by the Southern Party of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) (1962–63) because of its shape.
The likes of Johnny Morris, Jack Rowley, Stan Person and Charlie Mitten, all of whom had grown up around the streets of Manchester, were ushering in a new era of success.
