abstract:The King's (The Cathedral) School is a Church of England secondary school with academy status in Peterborough, England. The school is one of seven established, re-endowed or renamed, by King Henry VIII in 1541 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries for the education of "twenty poor boys".
The former King's School, Worcester pupil teamed up with Mark Hunter to win gold in the men's lightweight double sculls in Beijing - the first time Great Britain had won the Olympic title in this category.
He is an Old Boy of the city's King Edward's School and has an apartment in that triumph of 'statement architecture', the 25-storey Cube building which now towers over Gas Street Basin.
