The beautiful colonial house with ample courtyard and gardenspace is still a centre for Mayan research and a base to sell handicrafts produced in outlying indigenous communities.
The structure spans across 30, 000 square feet and was designed by Selldorf Architects and design consultants from Atelier Ten, and also will house a gardenspace created by Piet Oudolf.
The 3, 700-square-foot space in Covent Garden will adopt the French bistro decor, menu and name of his legendary Balthazar in New York, with the vernacular addition of an afternoon tea menu.
