abstract:The Shelby Mustang is a higher performance variant of the Ford Mustang which was built by Shelby American from 1965 through 1967, and Shelby Automotive from 1968 through 1970. Following the introduction of the fifth generation Ford Mustang, the Shelby nameplate was revived in 2007 for new high performance versions of the Mustang.
There are plenty of other great-but-discontinued models car guys miss: Just whisper the name ShelbyMustang, Jaguar E-Type or Lamborghini Muira and check the reaction.
Both companies are offering new iterations of their 1960s pony cars for example, the recently unveiled 2013 Ford MustangShelby GT500 (650 horsepower) and the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 ("barely street legal, " claims Chevrolet).
