Steve McIntyre is the tenacious Canadian ex-mining engineer whose dogged research helped expose flaws in Mr. Mann's "hockey stick" graph of global temperatures.
Mr Lewis originally began studying at the university college in Swansea in 1927 with the aim of becoming a miningengineer, but switched courses and transferred to Aberystwyth in 1928.
