Toyoda said in the interview that the company won't start building any new auto plants through 2015 to keep fixed costs down despite burgeoning sales and what he feels are good prospects forglobalauto growth.
Tomohiko Ikeda, the head of globalsales and marketing for Subaru parent company Fuji Heavy Industries in Japan, said in a press conference at the New York auto show that Subaru intends to make up for lost time.
