Apparently they've managed to create some supa' fastmemorychips by coating 30-nanometer-long bits of tobacco mosaic virus (pictured above in its natural habitat) with itsy-bitsy platinum nanoparticles.
Even though these graphics chips whip up close to 1 million polygons a second, they bog down in the data, which can travel only so fast between the graphics accelerator and the memorychips nearby.
