In the first decade, Jackson produced a string of world premieres, and his theatre soon became a forcing house for new acting talent, including such familiar names as Laurence Olivier, Edith Evans, Stewart Grainger and Ralph Richardson.
Here, the saxophonist steps out with his new band, Wilsonian's Grain, which features pianist Orrin Evans, Ugonna Okegwo on bass and Bill Stewart on drums all long-time friends.
The event was broadcast on BBC Breakfast, Radio 4 and Radio 2 - where Chris Evans took part in the ceremony alongside Moira Stewart, Dame Kelly Holmes and Martin Creed himself.
