Coronation Street was seen by an average audience of 8.6 million viewers, while Upstair Downstairs - which returned fora new series on BBC One straight after Call The Midwife - attracted 6.5 million people.
Women were most likely to say they had the kind of facilities and support for the type of birth they wanted if they did not give birth in hospital, leading the NCT to renew its callfor all women to have the choice of a home birth and access to a midwife-led unit.
