The claim was made by aprosecutionlawyer during a hearing for two Belfast brothers charged after a police investigation into animal cruelty and illegal dog fighting.
As he appeared by video-link from Maghaberry Prison, aprosecutionlawyer told the High Court a decision was taken to detain him after police studied video footage of him addressing crowds of demonstrators and allegedly encouraging them to offend.
On Monday, aprosecutionlawyer alleged in court that the attack on the badger came after it had been forced from its set and it was dazzled by a lamp before the dogs killed it inside just four minutes.
