鼻窦囊肿分为粘液囊肿、粘膜囊肿和发生于上颌骨的牙源性囊肿。粘液囊肿为鼻窦口的长期闭塞，窦内分泌潴留而形成。粘膜囊肿系窦粘膜的粘液腺或浆液腺管口堵塞，腺体分泌膨胀而形成。此二类可采取手术切除并建立鼻窦和鼻腔的引流。牙源性囊肿分含牙囊肿和牙根囊肿。前者多发于青年，系牙发育异常所引起；后者由牙根尖肉芽肿退行性变形成，多发于年龄较大的病人。治疗以摘除囊肿同时处理病牙。
