颅内蛛网膜囊肿是脑脊液包围在蛛网膜所形成的囊腔，属良性病变。蛛网膜囊肿常见于外侧裂、大脑纵裂、大脑表面或底部、小脑等处，亦可见于鞍区、视神经、四叠体区、斜坡、桥小脑角等处。临床上有两种类型，一种是先天性蛛网膜内囊肿，系胚胎蛛网膜发育异常所致，占大多数；一种是因创伤、炎症等引起蛛网膜广泛粘连的结果，又称为继发性蛛网膜囊肿。
