革兰阳性菌、革兰阴性菌是根据对细菌进行革兰氏染色的结果来区分的,如果将细菌作革兰氏染色,凡染后菌体呈紫色的,为革兰阳性菌,菌体呈红色,称“革兰氏阴性菌”。无论阳性菌还是阴性菌都有杆菌和球菌。葡萄球菌、大肠杆菌、绿脓杆菌是临床最为常见的病原菌,葡萄球菌属于革兰阳性球菌,大肠杆菌属于革兰阴性菌中的肠杆菌科。
