运动技能是指通过学习而形成的有法则的操作活动方式。调节、控制着操作动作的执行，是一种动作经验而非认知经验，同时又有别于心智技能，具有物质性、外显性与展开性。可分为初级操作技能和高级操作技能两类。初级操作技能指通过一定练习或模仿形成的仍带有明显意识控制特点的技能，高级操作技能则指经过反复练习使其基本成分达到自动化水平的技能。操作技能的掌握要通过对操作活动方式的认识与练习。
