脆弱类杆菌（Bacterooides fragilis，Bf）为革兰阴性短杆菌有荚膜，无芽胞，部分有菌毛，专性厌氧，近年来发现产肠毒素脆弱类杆菌（Enterotoxigenic Bacteroides fragilis，ETBF）能够引起家畜、儿童和成人腹泻，资料表明腹泻患者ETBF分离率达9。2%~26。8%，从而引起了研究人员的重视，并对其致病物质—脆弱类杆菌毒素（Bacteroides fragilis toxin，BFT）和生物学特性，编码基因、致病机理、及检验方法等进行了深入研究。
