聚马来酸,为橘红色透明液。相对密度1.19~1.22。热稳定性好,在300℃高温下仍有良好的阻垢性能。不随水蒸气挥发,不污染蒸气。由顺丁烯二酸酐在催化剂作用下聚合、水解制得。主要用于蒸汽机车锅炉、工业低压锅炉、内燃机冷却水系统、海水淡化、海水提钾、换热系统、油田输油管线及回罐系统等方面的阻垢缓蚀。
