纤维分离又称制浆或解纤。植物性原料分离成细小纤维的过程。纤维分离的目的是制成纤维浆料，用以制造纤维板。分为粗分和精磨两个过程。粗分主要是把木片分离成个体纤维或纤维束，其中也有部分被被切断或撕裂。精磨主要是把未完成分离的纤维束，进一步分离成个体纤维，并使其进一步分丝、帚化、疏解的更细，增大纤维的总比表面积。纤维分离法通常分为机械法和爆破法两大类。其中机械法又可分为加热机械法、化学机械法和纯机械法3种。其中加热机械法为目前国内外纤维板生产部门广泛运用。该法又分为热磨法和高速磨浆法。
