红树莓是多年生落叶小灌木, 是地下根状茎多年生、地上结果枝一年一轮换的树种, 喜肥水、喜光、不耐涝, 适应性强, 抗旱、抗寒、耐瘠薄, 果实纯天然、无污染、富营养、味香甜可口、果色橙红亮丽, 深受人们的喜爱第三代水果。其颜色及外形因接近中药覆盆子，所以又称为覆盆子。
