短路（实验）是初中物理电学中常见故障，即在电路中用电器两端直接由导线连接叫局部短路；另一种情况电源未经任何用电器而直接用导线相连通叫电源短路。由欧姆定律：I=U/R可知，当电源电压v一定，R很小时，电路中电流将瞬间增幅很大，由焦耳定律可知，时间一定时，电流增大，导线将发热升温，乃至发生火灾。 在电力系统中，短路试验包括变压器短路试验和发电机短路试验等，可校验相关设备的稳定性和获得重要设备参数。
