直线杆塔是指用于架空线路直线段的杆塔。其导线用悬垂线夹、针型或支柱型绝缘子悬挂。交流特高压输电线路直线杆塔的设计形式主要采用猫头型塔。导线呈中相“V”串边相“I”串排列，中相导线与下相导线最小垂直距离为16m左右，两边相导线间最小水平距离为30m左右，因此可以将线路走廊减小到最窄，为节省线路走廊，减少拆迁费用，因此一般采用此种猫头型系列直线塔。
