生物大分子是指生物体细胞内存在的蛋白质、核酸、多糖等大分子。每个生物大分子内有几千到几十万个原子，分子量从几万到几百万以上。生物大分子的结构很复杂,但其基本的结构单元并不复杂。蛋白质分子是由氨基酸分子以一定的顺序排列成的长链。氨基酸分子是大部分生命物质的组成材料,不同的氨基酸分子有好几十种。生物体内的绝大多数酶就属于蛋白质，是生物体维持正常代谢功能所不可缺少的。
