成立浙江省无线通信局，从属名称为“浙江省无线通信总公司”，实行一套班子，两块牌子。省无线通信局由省微波通信总站和省移动通信工程建设办公室（1991年6月25日成立的临时机构）合建，除担负原省微波通信总站的职责任务外，并负责全省移动通信、无线寻呼网的规划、维护管理等业务。
目前系统已在浙江移动成功运行，并取得了一定的效果，提高了终端资源管理的效率，使全省终端产品的销售发生了突破式的变革。
