污水一级处理又称污水物理处理。通过简单的沉淀、过滤或适当的曝气，以去除污水中的悬浮物，调整pH值及减轻污水的腐化程度的工艺过程。处理可由筛选、重力沉淀和浮选等方法串联组成，除去污水中大部分粒径在100微米以上的颗粒物质。筛滤可除去较大物质；重力沉淀可除去无机颗粒和相对密度大于1的有凝聚性的有机颗粒；浮选可除去相对密度小于1的颗粒物（油类等）。废水经过一级处理后一般仍达不到排放标准。
