气虚血瘀为病机，因气虚无力行血而致血行瘀滞的病理变化。气为血帅，血液的正常运行，有赖于气的正常推动，若元气亏虚，无力行血，则血行缓慢，停留而瘀。《医林改错·论抽风不是风》云：“元气既虚，必不能达于血管，血管无气，必停留而瘀。”临床常见身疲乏力、少气懒言等气虚之症，又有瘫痪、麻木或窜痛等血瘀之表现。此以气虚为本，血瘀为标，治宜补气益气为主，兼以活血行血。可用补阳还五汤加减。
