植被盖度指植物群落总体或各个体的地上部份的垂直投影面积与样方面积之比的百分数。它反映植被的茂密程度和植物进行光合作用面积的大小。有时盖度也称为优势度。
计算植被盖度的实质就是混合像元分解,基于混合像元分解技术提出了植被盖度(Vegetation Fraction)的概念[ 21],植被盖度指单个像元内植被的反射率占总反射率的比率。
