板层角膜移植术是以角膜的部分组织为操作对象进行的手术，只切除有病变的角膜浅层组织，深层比较完好的受主角膜仍然保留作为移植床，然后取同样大小和厚度的角膜材料浅层角膜片，缝于患者角膜的创面上。板层角膜移植，属于眼外手术，一般不扰动眼内组织，并发症较少。故凡角膜病变未侵犯角膜深层，而内皮生理功能健康或可复原者，均可行板层角膜移植术。临床常用于： 1、中浅层角膜白斑 2、实质浅层角膜营养不良性混浊与角膜变性 3、进行性角膜炎或溃疡、角膜瘘、角膜肿瘤 4、角膜疲痕虽然达角膜深层，但有希望剖切至植床透明，而全身情况或局部情况不适宜行穿透性角膜移植的患者：如精神病患者、眼球震颤患者。
