月掩星，是一种天文现象，指一个天体在另一个天体与观测者之间通过而产生的遮蔽现象。当月亮运行到地球和太阳之间， 同时3者又恰好在一条视线上，从地球上看去，月亮遮住了太阳，于是发生了日食。同样的道理，当月亮遮住的天体是遥远的星星时，这种天象就叫月掩星。
