最优化模型(optimization model)在经济管理工作中运用线性规划、非线性规划、动态规划、整数规划以及系统科学方法所确定的表示最优方案的模型。它能反映经济活动中的条件极值问题，即在既定目标下，如何最有效地利用各种资源，或者在资源有限制的条件下，如何取得最好的效果。最优化模型方法常用来解决资源的最佳分配问题、最优部门结构问题、生产力合理布局问题、最优积累率问题、物资合理调运问题、最低成本问题等。
本课程定位是开发和解决大规模最佳化模型中的计算以及计算相关问题。
