急性胆管炎一般是指由细菌感染所致的胆道系统的急性炎症，常伴有胆道梗阻。当胆道梗阻比较完全，胆道内细菌感染较重时，可出现严重的临床症状，如寒战、高热、黄疸，尚可有感染性休克和神经精神症状。
