师范专科学校，90年代后改称为师范高等专科学校，是培养初中、小学教师的高等学校，属于高等师范专科学校、高等师范学校、高等师范院校、师范院校。中国由省、专区双重领导，以省或专区为主。两或三年制。依初中和小学课程设置专业。1922 年教育部公布的《学校系统改革令》规定，“为补充初级中学教育之不足，得设二年之师范专修科附设于大学校教育科或师范大学校，亦得设于师范学校或高级中学， 收受师范学校及高级中学毕业生”。
