家庭经济学是现代经济学研究深入微观、以家庭为研究对象的经济学分支。家庭经济学主要研究家庭的消费、生产、理财等经济活动。对分析社会状况、解决社会问题有很大帮助作用。家庭经济学渊源于古希腊思想家色诺芬的《经济论》。19世纪末美国一些高校开设了家庭经济学专业。近年来家庭经济学已发展成为微观经济学的一个独立分支。我国研究这门学科的历史较短，尚没有形成完整的理论体系。
