器械攀登是指在攀爬过程中使用的器械不仅仅用作保护,而且借助向上。攀登者在无法进行自由攀登时，利用绳梯与各类器材进行辅助通过困难段落的一种攀登方式，按照使用装备的不同分为两种方式：Aid和CleaningAid，简写为A和C。
