周期盘点是一种库存盘点方法。库存按计划定期盘点，而不是一年才盘点一次。例如，某种物料的库存达到订货点时，或新物料到库时都可以进行盘点。也可以事先订立某种一贯的盘点原则，比如对价值高并且流动快的物料多盘点；对价值低或流动慢的物料少盘点。
这种方法是随时检查库存量，当库存下降至再订货点（reorder point）时，就发出批量为Q的订货。二是周期盘点（periodic review）。这种方法是按照预先规定的时间间隔定期对库存进行盘点，并随即提出订货，将库存水平补充到指定目标库存量。
