医疗补助费又称医疗补助金，是指按规定支付给未实行医疗保险地区已纳入基本养老保险基金开支范围的离休、退休、退职人员的医疗费用。
将工伤预防费用增列为基金支出项目，将由用人单位支付的一次性工伤医疗补助金、住院伙食补助费和到统筹地区以外就医所需的交通、食宿费改由基金支付。
