公证书，是指公证处根据当事人申请，依照事实和法律，按照法定程序制作的具有特殊法律效力的司法证明书，是司法文书的一种。是法律界常用的应用写作文体之一。 公证书是公证处制作并发给当事人使用的法律文书。 公证机构应当按照司法部规定或批准的格式制作公证书。公证书为16开大小，由封面、正文、封底组成。制作公证书应使用中文。在少数民族聚居或者多民族共同居住的地区，除涉外公证事项外，可使用当地民族通用的文字。根据需要或当事人的要求，公证书可附外文译文。
