低渗透油田是指油层储层渗透率低、丰度低、单井产能低的油田。低渗透油气田在我国油气开发中有着重要意义，我国低渗透油气资源分布具有含油气多、油气藏类型多、分布区域广以及“上气下油、海相含气为主、陆相油气兼有”的特点，在已探明的储量中，低渗透油藏储量的比例很高，约占全国储量的2/3以上，开发潜力巨大。 2016年 1月8日，长庆油田“5000万吨级特低渗透—致密油气田勘探开发与重大理论技术创新”获得2015年度国家科技进步一等奖。
