价格消费曲线是说明消费者收入和偏好不变，与一种商品价格变化相联系的两种商品的效用最大化组合。即一种商品由于价格变动引起需求量变化。一般表示某商品在价高时需求量少，价低时需求量大。但笔者认为：它的变化规律也可以提示不同市场及不同弹性商品的需求变化规律，还可以反映整个社会对所有商品的需求变化规律。
通过不同价格上的这样分解，我们能够将市场需求曲线表示为单个消费者需求曲线的横向加总。
