水沟穴为督脉经穴，别名人中、鬼宫，为督脉与手足阳明之会，位于人中沟正中线上1/ 3与2/3交界处。其功能醒神开窍，清热熄风，主治昏迷、晕厥、癫狂、急慢惊风、消渴等多种疾病，为中医抢救危重病人的急救穴之一。
目的：探讨水沟穴在醒脑开窍针法中的作用。

方法：根据文献及现代医学机理，对针刺水沟穴在中风急性期和恢复期、后遗症期的作用进行分析。
Methods The action of Shuigou (GV 26) in acute stage, restoration stage and sequel stage of apoplexy were analyzed according to literature and modern medicine.
