During post-production, while a producer won't be directly involved in the process, she will usually spend her day offering advice to the director and editor if needed, and continuing to make sure that the production does not go over budget. When the movie is finished and needs to be distributed and marketed, a producer may choose to be involved with the marketing side of the movie and will spend most of her day in meetings and on the phone, acting as a liaison between the studio and the distributors. If a movie is being marketed as a blockbuster, a producer will also spend a good deal of her day negotiating contracts on tie-in memorabilia.
