abstract:Dunkeld (,Scots Language Centre: Scottish Place Names in Scots from ) is a small town in Strathtay, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is about 15 miles north of Perth on the eastern side of the A9 road into the Scottish Highlands and on the opposite (north) side of the Tay from the Victorian village of Birnam.
The A9 was closed in both directions for part of Thursday afternoon between Ballinluig and Dunkeld after water flooded down from the hills, but has reopened.
The general manager at the Birnam Hotel in Dunkeld, Perthshire, said he had to call in extra staff to cope with the surge in demand for rooms on Sunday afternoon.
