The critically acclaimed first "Thief" game was followed by two sequels, 2000's "Thief II: The Metal Age" and 2004's "Thief: DeadlyShadows, " before the franchise faded from view.
However, its problems began when sharp-eyed players noticed that the fifteen years it had taken to develop had apparently not left enough time to create backgrounds, which had been lifted from The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, World of Warcraft, Thief: DeadlyShadows and elsewhere.
